 Greetings! Six members of my skate group, the Atlanta Peachtree Roadrollers from Atlanta, Georgia, USA will be traveling through Europe April 20-May 11, 2004. We will be arriving in Frankfurt the morning of the 4th and plan to participate in the Tuesday Night Skate at 20:30. Recommendations on hotels that are close to the starting point of the night skate would be greatly appreciated, as well as a weather advisory for that time of year. We look forward to skating with you. :O)

Hi Elizabeth,

great idea, you will have some fun.
The weather should be nice and warm in Mai, however we have some occasional rain. The TNS takes place in rain or shine.
As for hotels a recommendation depends on your budget. The Youth Hostel is 20 meters from the TNS start, the Steigenberger Maxx Hotel just 2 minutes on skates. The Maxx is quite reasonable priced for a 3 Star hotel in Frankfurt.
For reservations you should check out the Hotel Reservation Service you can switch to english and start searching for single or double rooms.

Just in case, you are also welcome to join the Thursday night skate at Düsseldorf, the "famous" DUSFOR , about 2 hours by car, nearby cologne and essen.

If you are interested, we do not have an english website, but if any of you is able to read german, take a look here.
Start is at 20:00.
Let me know if I can be of help for that Düsseldorf trip. I am just too new to frankfurt myself to be of help with your visit to Frankfurt but there are plenty of people around able to help you.

Hi Elizabeth,
you belong to this "Yanks In Europe" group ?!?

I read about your trip in the londonskaters forum, your group wants to visit all the large skate capitals in europe like paris, london, berlin... So welcome to frankfurt for the longest and fastest nightskate on the old continent!

As pollifax already mentioned, the weather is always fine around may.
Here are some pictures from the last year, 6th of may with 2260 skater. You can guess the temperatures as mostly all of us are just wearing t-shirts and short trousers.
