Zitat: | If you want to talk about strategy for the day, I can give you lots of inside info. I have planned the shifts for our top team for the last two years.
I would stongly recommend you find out who has what speed over a medium distance a and then organise into two shifts of 5 skaters with the fastest 5 skating together. The logic behind this was so everyone gets a fairer share of track time. However, it works out that faster skaters usually have better recovery times and so can skate with other faster skaters they get competitive with each other over who is going to be the first below a certain time and they can help each other out with info more relevant to someone of similar ability. Under no circumstances should you try with 3 shifts of people as you will end up with 2 lots of 3 people and that isn't enough time between laps. Next for shift patterns try to organise shifts on the hour marks as they are easier to remember. Keep them short during the hot periods and loengthen them at night so people can get a good rest in their off shift period. Last year hour hours were 2, 2, 3, 5, 5, 3, 2, 2 with the fastest 5 going first to give the fastest endurance skater the most recovery time before the finish (see below why) 5 hours was a bit long for one of our shifts as they only had 4 skaters due to someone pulling out on the day be prepared to help out the other shift by throwing in an extra lap here and there to give them more recovery time.
Time trial: Pick you fastest sprinter. It is a straight slightly downhill 300m race against the other teams in your pit box.
Start: You need a skater who can do two laps at the start and is quick at getting their skates on and doesn't mind running across hot tarmac in socks or bare feet.
Finish: Endurance skating - You need a skater who can cover the most distance in about 30mins of continuous skating. |

Keep them short during the hot periods and lengthen them at night so people can get a good rest in their off shift period. das ist eigentlich keine schlechte idee... tagsüber wenns heiss ist kürzere schichten , nachts längere. dadurch verlängern sich auch die schlaf/pausenzeiten in der nacht. mal sehen was die teamchefs davon halten
